Sorry I am seething. Just watched SC give a talk at HoC on Women in Politics - What next. All pretty unremarkable but at the end she says she recognises her privilege as a middle class woman and as a 'cis' woman.
Does she not realise that she has just declared the 'privilege' of every single woman who isnt trans. Nice one.

Agreed ... there is no need for Creasy to use the silly term 'cis' either ... these are choices she is making of her own free will.

I think “privilege” is a useful concept but as soon it it is applied it causes problems. As something to be used in a hierarchy it readily gets weaponised and those best equipped to use it against others are those with considerable privilege already.

'Such a shame Stella buys into this trans ideology and uses phrases like 'cis privilege' because on all other counts she is definitely the sort of MP we want in parliament imo'

I agree. It's really galling. She should be a ally for women on this issue but sadly it doesn't seem to be the case

What really gets me is there was no necessity to use the word at all.

She is no ally of women.

I wonder if Stella saw GLAAD shelling out £14K for Dawn Butler to go to LA for the GLAAD awards.

Perhaps Stella also fancies a trip.

Yes the “peer on peer assault “ tweets. I was horrified by those. Lost any lingering respect for Stella at that point. She appears to be one of those women who really cares if men like her or not. She’s also not terribly clever, I wouldn’t vote for her.
