www.washingtonpost.com/news/local/wp/2018/07/20/feature/crossing-the-divide-do-men-really-have-it-easier-these-transgender-guys-found-the-truth-was-more-complex/?utm_term=.424f644ed084

I suppose what strikes me the most is the empathy and insightfulness of the four people featured in the article. And also their surprise at the reality of being perceived as men, the attitudinal changes they encountered, both positive and negative. It makes me wonder what actually convinced them that they needed to transition.

Article does gloss over the reality of transition - take a load of testosterone and you're good to go Hmm.

Very interesting article. It minimises the risks and side effects of medical transition.

“The transgender guys have a relatively straightforward process — we just simply add testosterone and watch their bodies shift,” said Joshua Safer, executive director at the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery at Mount Sinai Health System and Icahn School of Medicine in New York. “Within six months to a year they start to virilize — getting facial hair, a ruddier complexion, a change in body odor and a deepening of the voice.”

Maybe I'm sex obsessed, but I couldn't imagine taking steps to actively deprive myself of a fulfilling sex life.
