Just came across this while randomly googling interesting health related topics à propos of a conversation with DS, as you do, and thought it worth sharing:

Obviously this is American, would be interesting to hear from any UK doctors if this chimes with your experience. It’s funny, anyway. In a mild rage-inducing kind of way, of course.

The being called nurse all the time, yes. The hair thing, actually, yes. Scrubs...hmm, have to agree that unisex scrubs seem to be designed for male bodies. And have certainly been asked in interview how I balanced life and work...which was a not too heavily veiled way of asking if I had children, or planned to. And don't start me on patronising bastards in senior meetings who don't hear ideas until a man has suggested it. Not as bad as it was, but still not good.

Interesting. Thanks for your perspective. Kind of depressing (but predictable) to hear how accurate it is. I guess you haven’t actually had to give birth in your lunch hour though! Grin

I think your comment sums up a lot of the apparent progress we’ve made in general: not as bad as it was, but still not good.
