The recent 30 min interview is with Anna Salter, the renown expert in sex offenders - she has worked with them for many years until recently. She talks a lot about safeguarding children as a parent. It's USA based but the lessons are applicable anywhere there are children.

Dr. Anna Salter received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Public Practice from Harvard University and obtained a Masters Degree in Child Study from Tufts. She was a Teaching Fellow at both Universities. She is an accomplished author, lecturer and consultant -

keynoted conferences on sexual abuse
testifies as an expert witness in sexual abuse civil and criminal cases
evaluates sex offenders for civil commitment proceedings and other purposes.

She wrote the seminal book Predators - paedophiles, rapists and other sex offenders - who they are, how they operate and how we can protect ourselves and our children. A very hard and confronting read but a very informative one - know one's enemy.

She emphasises boundaries, holding sex offenders accountable and to listen to the children/adult survivors, as the predators groom the parents and others by appearing to be a "good person" who can do no wrong - a veritable Jekyll and Hyde personality.

Quote for a sex offender: It's not that hard to fool people

A clear explanation of how predators groom, and how they hide. People need to listen to this and read her book.
