Engender Podcast - on the GRA consultation in Scotland

The Scottish Consultation on the GRA is due out this week.
Engender was originally going to hold a meeting to discuss there response when a lot of us raised concerns but it was cancelled due to scheduling conflictsthey were scared.
They said they would address our concerns in a podcast which has finally been released

Have spent 40 minutes of my time listening to this and here are the results
It includes guests from Scottish Trans Alliance (who get to speak first), Scottish Women's Aid and Rape Crisis.
It is extremely disappointing. The themes are we already do this so there is no problem, what else can we do to include trans people, and that us terrible radical feminists need to be kinder.
Also featuring violence against women happens anyway so this won't change so let them in your spaces, trans people experience the most violence so need to access these spaces and you all need to work with queer theorist to form a coherent gender theory.
So ignoring all our concerns and just championing the changes.
Does not make me hopeful for the consultation release this week

Did they mention the contradiction between people who have always been women, and their wives who are not lesbians but cannot obtain a divorce?

Keep a copy and log the evidence of these people and whst they do, bring it out when there is a public backlash.

nope not mentioned at all

they did talk about statistics and how they would be affected but it was mostly they won't
They actually said that if a person was assigned male at birth (I know!) and then transitioned that any crimes they committed would be recorded as male crimes and we know that's rubbish

dragongirl Thanks for putting yourself through that! Just to be clear, have Engender had a preview of the consultation response, or were the participants just discussing their submissions to the consultation?

Either way,.it's not looking good

They were just discussing their responses but I agree its not looking great.
Engender are holding an event at the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday supposedly to celebrate 25 years but I am wondering if the Scottish Government will release the results on the same day
