Number of women/men killed by a partner

On my local police facebook page there is a post about 2 women being killed by a partner or ex partner per week and then inevitably they've had replies saying "Why are you only focusing on women? Men are abused too!." Are the figures known for how many men are killed by a partner? I imagine it's a lot less but it would be good to have figures.

Off the top of my head, I think it's something like one man every eight weeks. Murdered, that is, not necessarily by a female. Though when it is a female, there is often a long list of prior DV incidents from him.

Those stats from 2017 say 242 women killed by a male partner or ex partner, 40 men killed by a female partner or ex partner.

They also say the majority of men killed in domestic homicides (as with other homicide) are killed by other men.

5 women a week die due to domestic violence in the U.K. if you include women who are driven to suicide by their abuse.

135 men of which 33% killed by a woman which makes 44.55, call it 45 men killed by women.

Finding out who killed who in the stats isn't so easy, from prior experience. Easy to get total numbers killed, easy to get total numbers prosecuted, hard to get figures that tie the two together

So sad reading stats including kids being killed by their mothers and fathers :(

8 of those 11 females were killed by a family member only 3 were killed by a partner or ex. The table shows that 40 men were killed by a female partner or ex in those 3 years.
