Ministers put curbs on trans rights
Groups that exclude self-identifying women from female-only sites are to be protected

I looked and tried to see if anyone had posted this yet today, if they have I apologise

I think the headline is poor tbh.

There is another thread 'Ministers commit to sex based exemptions', which has a sharetoken link so best go there.Smile

It's already posted Red - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3286986-Ministers-commit-to-preserving-sex-based-exemptions

And yes the headline is misleading as nothing has been conceded nor clarified in reality

Debbie Hayton not happy.

Objectives.
Transactivists: self-ID;
Women: protection of spaces;
Transsexual people: privacy.

We can't do all three. For women to exercise discretion, transwomen will be required to disclose.

Is society about to throw TS people under that bus? :-(

I think they need to stress that existing women only spaces and services comply with the law and are protected as a result. The 'case by case' comment just leaves the door open for current services being sued.

You can't identify into another class. It undermines the Equality Act, and self ID will make it unworkable.
