Just seen this article on BBC News website and thought it of interest. I knew the figures would be high, but I'm surprised at how high the level is.

I'm surprised it is that high too. I've attended for years and never had a problem, nor have the women I went with (I'm not denying that others have!)

I wonder if the particular festival makes a difference..?

I must be very world weary atm, but those numbers don't surprise me really.

It's very disappointing that all those major festivals declined to comment on this topic.

I felt very naive in expecting the rate to be much lower. I too felt disappointed that some of the biggest names in British festival organisation declined to comment. Glastonbury especially - may be irrational of me, but because of their ethical stance I expected better of them.
