Graham Norton's sofa

I've just realised how entrenched the idea of just accepting that most people on the telly are men.

dd and I have just been gobsmacked at the fact that every person on GN's sofa is female. Women. Five of them.

What's shocking isn't the fact that they are all there. What's shocking is that (sadly) we are shocked.

Do they really Jane?

My eyes glaze over when the Gaelic is on I must admit; rugby seems to be still all male (apart from when the - admittedly really very good - women's matches are on).

Athletics/olympics etc have great women. And the BBC of course has the wonderful Clare Balding who would be my No 1 dinner party guest.

I agree it's too many people. Especially if you are trying to MN at the same time Blush

Also, Moffat, I was watching behind time; what did rhianna say?

I'm not a GAA fan, sorry. I can't be living where I live. My county is never going to win anything, sadly.

Rihanna makes me question my sexuality.

Noticed recently that BBC are having more female and experts on air. It’s so nice to see and hear, especially with a DD who needs role models.
My favourite quote was when Jim Al-Kahlili was asked how he managed 50/50 representation on The Life Scientific, he replied “Well there are 8 episodes in the series so I invite 4 men and 4 women. It’s easy” Smile

It was a great sofa, and I liked that they called out the digging of oohh, who hates who?? They did seen to genuinely get along in a crazy, manic way.

Sarah was amazing in American Gothic, but I love Cate Blanchett.

Wonder where Anne Hathaway was??

Magpiesarehuge · 16/06/2018 00:37

I’m (or was) a huge movie buff - I noticed this about 30 yrs ago. I find it all fascinating i must admit and comment on it regularly - it amazes me that folk don’t seem to notice and question it more.

Other than that- i LOVE HBC. The music act was brill - loved it.

Also loved Beverly’s story - i loved my Sindy too!

NapQueen · 16/06/2018 06:49

I dont think Anne was at the premier either.

ForalltheSaints · 16/06/2018 06:53

Re the World Cup coverage- I have noticed both End Aluko and that Alex Scott is going to be on some of the match coverage. Just a pity that the man with no morals Ryan Giggs is on.

Popchyk · 16/06/2018 10:07

Yes, that was my reaction Fortheallsaints.

"Oh great, there's Eni Aluko...

Oh Christ, they've got Ryan Giggs as well"
