I will always stand against the ideological totalism of compelled thought and proscribed speech that is preventing women from describing men as men here, on Twitter and anywhere else.

OP posts:
Elendon · 28/05/2018 15:00

And yes, I totally agree with your OP Miranda. xx

You are a brave man for speaking up against this. Much love.

Mossandclover · 28/05/2018 15:05

I actually opened a twitter account and followed Miranda. Can’t be bothered working out what else I can do now so I think I will give up on it. I am sure the action of following Miranda probably got me blocked by have of it anyway.... Good to see you here Miranda. I am new to this debate but don’t want to miss it when people get fed up of censorship here and move on.

Terfulike · 28/05/2018 15:11

Hi BiscuitMiranda

Janie143 · 28/05/2018 15:15

You are an inspiration Miranda and a jolly good chap x

smithsinarazz · 28/05/2018 15:25

Thanks Miranda. Xx

ApplesinmyPocket · 28/05/2018 15:40

Me and my pal tweeted anger at Miranda's ban - pal got blocked by the lovely LM on the strength of it, but I didn't (damn, must try harder)

Hate that you got banned, Miranda. Makes me very angry. It's ludicrous and wrong.

quixote9 · 28/05/2018 16:01

I've been reading your blogposts for years, Miranda. Delighted to find you here. (No twitter account, but I do read some people's public feeds.)

Anyway, my point, when I get to it!, is that I've never had a problem thinking of you as "she." You've always had a willingness to consider others which felt womanlike to me. (So now I find out I'm also an essentialist? Seriously though, given the patriarchy we're all drenched in, that felt like a real transition to me.) And you've always acknowledged natal women's experience of misogyny and how it differs from yours. Despite the mountains of shit thrown at you, you can still see that. I mean, sure, there are untransitioned men who are capable of that but you have to do like Diogenes to find them.

Whereas the TRAs who insist on their sacred pronouns have always felt like your ordinary, garden variety, overbearing patriarchal men to me.

I realize none of this is relevant to this protest post. For that, just thanks for putting it here!

I bet someone's reported this thread already Grin

SporadicSpartacus · 28/05/2018 16:08

If you’re a man, Miranda, then you’re a gentleman - of the well-mannered, boundary-respecting and honest kind, not the annoying modern ‘nice guy’ variant - although in my head you’re definitely ‘she’. I’ve enjoyed your tweets and blog posts very much - you are funny, refreshing and have giant brass balls (pardon the metaphor).

Twitter is poorer for losing you.

MIRANDA
      Oh, wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
That has such people in ’t!

ErrolTheDragon · 28/05/2018 16:15

I bet someone's reported this thread already

What for? For celebrating the beauteousness of mankind?

Elendon · 28/05/2018 16:22

Great quote ErrolTheDragon

While I don't trust 99.99% of TIM's I guess MY has earned my respect.

WhoGetsHeard · 28/05/2018 17:56

Yes. Far, far more importantly though: Miranda Yardley is wonderful.

lostplot · 28/05/2018 19:39

Good to see you here, don't be a stranger.

Abouttoblow · 28/05/2018 19:41

Hi Miranda!
Glad to see you here.
Missed you on Twitter.

AnyFucker · 28/05/2018 19:43

Welcome to Mumsnet. Celebrate the truth here. 🍸

TERFragetteCity · 28/05/2018 19:46

Hey Miranda.

Glad to see you are still around.

CrumpetsReconsidered · 28/05/2018 19:57

Hello Miranda, I don't post much but I follow (lurk) often. Thank you. Solidarity sister.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 28/05/2018 20:02

You rock Miranda.

GorgonLondon · 28/05/2018 20:10

Love you Miranda!

RaininSummer · 28/05/2018 20:16

Hey Miranda. Good to "see" you here. I am looking forward to hearing you speak in Truro soon.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 28/05/2018 20:29

Pretty sure some kind of timeline divergence happened in the last few years and we veered off into some wacky dimension. Large hadron collider probably

It is kinda shitty when you suspect you're living in the dystopia future which only comes about because someone ducks about with a time machine in Chapter Four...

But yeah thanks Miranda. And nice to see a bit of The Tempest Errol. Prospero is a proper bastard patriarch so it seems apt Grin

AbsintheFriends · 28/05/2018 21:14

Couldn't pass up the opportunity to say a fangirly hello to Miranda.

Am utterly disgusted at the twitter ban, but I have a fundamental belief that decency, goodness, honesty and integrity will triumph. Somehow. Flowers Gin
