daimbar: Anticipating it will happen based on zero evidence and no reported cases in the UK seems pretty irrational to me
DisturblinglyOrangeScrambleEgg: Plenty of men have been caught doing it. Plenty of men are men in public and cross-dress in private before coming out as trans later in life.
Like trans woman Marie Dean, who as crossdresser Gary Dean Marie broke into teenaged girls' homes and wanked whilst wearing their knickers and has now transitioned in jail and demanding hair straighteners and make-up and to be moved to the female prison estate. Predictably, The Guardian are treating her like a martyr because the narcissist (literal) wanker has gone on hunger strike. Please note how The G's report misses many of the worst details of her offences, e.g. the wanking, illegal possession of CS gas, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer in the line of their duty.
Still, I'm sure that @Daimbar would be happy for Marie Dean to use the female toilets with her or her daughter, right? After all, she's now legally a woman.
It never seems to occur to self-id proponents that perhaps the reason why sex crimes in toilets are relatively rare is because at this time most are still single-sex. UNICEF et al advocate that girls in developing countries are given access to sex-segregated toilets for privacy and safety, so why aren't British women allowed the same right?
John Worboys bought drugs, alcohol, and a "rape kit" of condoms etc in order to rape female passengers. He risked his job as a taxi driver to rape, and may have even chosen that profession in order to gain access to women. Marie Dean broke into houses to get access to teen girls' knickers. If men will go to all that effort, expense, and risk to commit sexual violence against women, what makes you think that they will say "Self-id and get legal access to all women's loos? Nah, too much effort." or even "Pretend to have self-ided to blag access to women's loos? Nah, too much effort."? We would be extremely irrational to fail to anticipate the possibility that self-id will increase male-perpetrated sex crime rates in women's loos.
