(Linda's statement yesterday afternoon was a little lost amongst other postings so may have been missed by some people)

"About 30 minutes ago I received a telephone call from North Yorkshire Police informing that the CPS is not minded to pursue the case against me for the words I spoke regarding defending myself if attacked and which were subsequently distorted to imply that I would attack/assault trans women in general. It is a relief to know that sanity has returned to the notion of British justice but some part of me was keen to take on the struggle on a wider platform."

I had missed it what fantastic news! Relieved for Linda, she's another one I'm fangirling today as she is AMAZING.

Really pleased to hear this. The whole thing was an unnecessary use of police resources IMO. But at least this way no one can say their complaint was ignored.

Good. Will the police be apologising for wasting scant resources on obviously vexatious complaints?

Common sense has prevailed but I can understand why part of her would have welcomed taking the struggle to a wider platform.

Good news - but some damage has been done though. LB has been intimidated and the whole thing has served as a warning to all of us bystanders.

Probably peaktransed a lot of women though. Say you'll defend yourself if attacked by men and the police will be on your case.

I'm not so sure that LB has been intimidated - she's seemed rather ferociously unintimidated from what I've seen..? A shining example to all of us!

Great news. Perhaps the Yorkshire police forces could stop wasting CPS time with these ludicrous cases now.

It's just a shame they haven't charged/fined/cautioned/etc the person that made the claim in the first case for wasting police time...
