Anyone heard of Renew?

I have just been reading about a new centrist party called Renew (www.renew.org). They haven't got anything on their site about self-id etc, maybe someone eloquent can open a dialogue with them? I might, but then again I have been on the and would make a mess

I hadn't heard of them. Just had a quick look at the website and found this:

"The return of identity politics has pushed us to extremes". Quite.

I've emailed them to ask their views on the GRA proposed amendments. They probably don't actually have one ....

Well maybe you will nudge them into creating one.

I can see myself as their leader.

I could be way off base but it has a certain white supremacist vibe going on in the name.

Do you think? I assumed they meant sweep all the current political crap out of the way and change the way things are done but never get elected anyway so it won't matter...

I had the same knee-jerk response, which could be wrong. But going to their site and seeing one token black woman and one token brown dude, and all those whities....!

I didn't get that impression. They seem to have candidates from wide ranging backgrounds.

There are white supremacist Centrists now?

In their main pic there are 20% with 'non White ' background (purely on visible appearance) so that's a good mix. Seem very centrist and want a second referendum on Brexit which is good. I'd not heard of them at all though.

I'd be far more interested in the colour of their ideology than of their skin, tbh.

Not much to say on sex or sexism or women's rights as far as I can see.
They want different ethnicities and backgrounds but haven't bothered to mention the importance of representating both sexes equally.
Tells me a little bit about their priorities.

I guess if they are just getting going it won't be a topic in their sights yet, their focus seems to be on the usual biggies like another referendum. Self-id is a big topic here and on Twitter but I only heard of it myself in the past few months. Until then I was a 'plenty of room for everyone' person but I draw the line at male anatomy in female spaces. We will have to educate this new lot!
