If you can, please sign up to attend this event. Infuriatingly, it's being positioned as Engender schooling all of us silly hysterical women on why we're all silly and hysterical and how it will all be fine. Good chance to go along and state our case clearly.

Near Ed but not part of an organisation

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 29/04/2018 22:27

I might be able to go, if there was a few fellow MNers going from Glasgow.

scalliondays · 15/05/2018 22:26

Interesting - I booked very recently and now have a message saying that it's cancelled due to ' a diary clash' - I cynically wonder if there were too many gender critical sounding people interested in going? It was advertised as 'tea and coffee and cake' - a nice cosy little evening unless uppity women turn up asking questions....

Lemonjello · 15/05/2018 22:41

interesting how a “diary clash” would lead to it being cancelled, rather than rescheduled. Hmm

scalliondays · 15/05/2018 22:44

It was advertised as a joint meeting run by Engender and Scottish Trans Alliance - maybe the 'diary clash' is that they couldn't be outside yelling at us and inside telling us what to think. We're now invited to send questions to their podcast. Bet the actual meeting isn't rescheduled until too late. I'm now feeling pretty cross about being silenced.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 15/05/2018 22:45

Nah, they cancelled it because they could not risk having open debate on the floor.

Fucking cowards

scalliondays · 15/05/2018 22:48

I agree Lemonjello - they'd booked a fairly swish hotel in the centre of town so you think they might have looked in their diaries first - and for all of them to be busy? how many important events happen on a Tuesday night that would clash? I think I'm concluding that they've panicked at the number of unknown and possibly gender critical people wanting to attend.

scalliondays · 15/05/2018 22:52

I'm pretty miffed as it was going to be my first gender critical foray away from letter writing and I'd been refining my questions - I'll send them in to the podcast although it's probably pointless.

None of them "identified" as a secretary? LOL

scalliondays · 15/05/2018 22:55
Smile
Ereshkigal · 16/05/2018 00:11

How interesting. They can't avoid questions forever.

Lemonjello · 16/05/2018 08:55

Are people going to send in questions to the podcast?

We had originally discussed keeping questions close to our chests to avoid pre-prepared pat answers. But maybe it would be good to share questions people have sent here to see what they answer and what they avoid?
