Is anyone else doing this? I have been clinging onto membership in recent months to resign over this issue. And the moment has come.

Yes I left a few months ago, Lily Madigan being voted in as Women's Officer in their CLP was the final straw for me. I emailed my reasons for leaving but go no response at all.

ReluctantCamper · 29/04/2018 18:02

yes, I'm on the letter, planning on resigning on tuesday. torn because I don't want to leave the Labour Party to the wankers, but I simply cannot bear to give them any more of my money. will be donating to womens place instead.

invisibleoldwoman · 29/04/2018 18:35

I resigned just before heard about the mass resignations but there was also a list for people who had already resigned and I think I am on that. @ReluctantCamper - yes I regret giving them money as well.

BettyFloop · 29/04/2018 19:45

Also on the letter and resigning on Tuesday.

Lefty99 · 29/04/2018 21:06

My name is on the letter too. Looking forward to being FREE Smile

I left some months ago. Also got kicked off our local Labour Party forum for expressing the view that women should be allowed to discuss areas of concern to them relating to AWS. There were several trans posters on there and some lefty dude bro women haters who seemed to run the place. Was all v strange and not at all what I signed up to when I joined the Labour Party.

PlonkyPlink · 29/04/2018 21:11

I haven’t heard about this but was thinking of leaving. Where can I find the letter?

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 29/04/2018 23:46

Can anyone post a link to the list for women who have already resigned due to self-ID issues please?

MsMartini · 29/04/2018 23:46

Good - if sad - to know there are other MNetters.

@ReluctantCamper, yep, me too, I didn't want to be driven out - but I can't stay a member now.

Am going to email Jennie Formby and cc my MP (from whom I got the standard letter saying we all benefit from inclusion) and probably CLP membership secretary (tho I really do not trust my CLP on privacy/data

  • they keep screwing up - so may not). How is everyone else doing it?

Respect to all of you who are doing this...they may try to tell you this is not a major issue but we as women know that for us it is the issue, along with male violence that affects us specifically. I can't vote in these elections but hope fervently that your actions will be noticed and that we are consulted properly.

LaSqrrl · 30/04/2018 01:53

Lending my cheer from afar - well done to all the women doing this en masse. It is definitely sending a message.

I left a few months ago: Brexit and the appointment of LM were big reasons, the anti-Semitism and Corbyn’s continued failure to address it was the final push. I wish I’d waited to add my name to this letter.

I wasn’t a long-standing or active member in my local party but I did help in my local campaign in the last election, so that’s one less set of boots Labour will have in my neighbourhood.
