Its not just daughters, sons are also having an increase in attacks. These attacks aren’t new, a very low number of assaults and rapes are actually reported so its not necessarily an increase it could just be more people are reporting it.
In terms of social media yes there are certain measures we can take I.e not checking in to places and turning off the map function on snapchat (stupid thing in the first place) but there should be more conversations in schools and at home from a younger age to try and prevent this. Lad culture needs to be changed its not okay to talk about people like that and slut/victim shaming is another shocking reaction that needs addressing
