What... "underneath I am deternined" or the three ladies with vitiligo?
I think the book looks great.

There's a TIM in the clip of a book about the diversity of women's bodies and the words say 'whether we are trans, disabled, short...'

Trans is first. That's what she means. I agree, one of those things is not in any way like all the others. Being male is not part of the diversity of womanhood.

Yes of course I meant the women with vitiligo Grin Hmm

The photobook was apparently meant to dispel the notion of traditional beauty as defined by stereotypes, and the way it shackles women into boxes of "pretty" or "ugly" and their acceptability in society. So I think it's a bit off to have a load of women, plus a man with woman-face on.

Is there nothing that women can have for themselves, to empower and raise ourselves up as all different, all perfectly imperfect, scars, disabilities, age and the rest of it - but still all women, bound by our sex and the norms foisted on us?

One of these things is not like the other.

Oh OK. I didn't notice that.

I mean, this is a photographer trying to do something to get noticed, and don't forget trans is like the coolest thing ever, far more interesting than just being over 50 years old or having a disability.
It's to be expected that "cool" projects should mention trans and it's her choice to mention trans first if she wants to.
There's an obvious absence of females identifying as trans then...

Notice that the TIMs went with lingerie.

I just don't get this whole "women in pants is empowering" thing.

Power is empowering.

Women in pants is normal. Since the begining of art they've stuck women in their knickers and men to look at them. If you're basically recreating a ten year old Dove campaign you've lost your artistic cred.
