What I don’t get about the GRC

I’ve been reading around the issue and am familiarising myself with the impact trans rights are having on women/girls. I’m not sure if I’m correct in thinking the GRC means a person can change their birth certificate. The thing I don’t get is whether it is evident on the amemded birth certificate that it’s been changed, or if you get a fresh new one in the opposite sex?

Also employers could possibly discriminate against women of childbearing age because they may become pregnant. They wouldn't get the discrete P/M protection until they actually were.

That is a concern but with the existence of shared parental leave, an ET would give such a defence (of "it is not sex discrimination because a named or hypothetical transman may also get pregnant") short shift . Plus one would also plead indirect sex discrimination

I think anything which undermines the category of biological sex is a bad thing. I am very wary of legislation which enshrines a falsehood into law.
