Feminism: Sex and gender discussions
MarSeeAh · 14/03/2018 18:15

Wow!

Succinct and to the point.

I'm torn between despair that this is so widespread, and optimism that gender critical people are finding each other and speaking out.

I think the British and Northern Irish feminists are giving women in other countries the courage to speak out. It would be wonderful if a link could be established between like feminists in other countries.

*like minded feminists

I posted the same thing yesterday It was pointed out to me that this organisation is an ultraconservative Catholic organisation which is against same-sex marriage and abortion.

Thanks for the link. I watched a few videos from the conference and thought they were positive and interesting- one a detransitioned male, one a US lesbian gender critical feminist and one a south american academic about the intellectual history of transexual politics-all of these were informative. The final one was pro celebacy-or something very catholic-which was when I quit.

Half my family is Spanish. They are mainly conservative and catholic. It’s a cultural thing

Wow thanks for that. It turns out that Podemos (Spanish Labour) is trying to pass a draconian law on trans kids - as described on the link.
Where are the moderate left parties? They seem to have been extinguished. Now we only get these muppets trying to push through gagging laws against anyone who spreads 'hate speech'. I don't trust these ideologues to be the judges and courts on this subject.

I was looking at my Twitter feed and saw a retweet of some alt-right idiot, then I realised it was by a liberal I'd started following recently. So this is what it's coming down to, in order to defend women's rights and free speech we seem to be allying ourselves with some strange bedfellows. Ultra catholics they may be, but I can't really fault what I read on the link - they even describe the meeting as being attended by gay people as well. So maybe it's a sign of change.
