International Women's Day - Thurs 8 March

My normal celebratory practice on IWD is to sit on Twitter/FB and type:
"You do. 19th November" whenever somebody pipes up somewhere and demands "Why don't we have an international men's day?"

However, I really want to make a big deal of IWD this year, what with it being 100 years since some women got the vote, and the way women's services & safe spaces are becoming increasingly under pressure.

I'm in London and I've seen there's a march on this Sunday:

Just wondering what plans people have got for the actual day, if any?

I didn't realise it was IWD next week until today. I got an email from my company asking me to answer some questions (answers to go on social media and work internal website) on my job and to give advice to other women who might choose my career.
My first thought was, this is good. My second thought was, but I want a good answer to the inevitable question of 'why do you get a woman's day...'
So I thought I'd come looking on the feminist MN board
