I read that when it came out. Brave woman. And considering the reputation of Wellesley, it's pretty disappointing that none of the protestors had apparently even considered that the person they were protesting against, may not in fact be the real Alice Dreger but a fake account, or how this could have been achieved, or why she had "allowed" it to happen. Apparently they don't teach critical thinking at Wellesley.

Sorry to be dim, but what is Wellesley? Google not helping.

If you can believe that a man is a woman because he says he has lady brain and girl feels, you probably would believe anything.

Wellesley is an elite women's college in the United States.

"Another [young woman at Wellesley] told me one-on-one that she felt exhausted being at this women’s college, having her gender identity, her biology, her feminism constantly questioned, constantly being told she was inadequately thoughtful and too full of cis-privilege to be allowed to speak freely."

That article is terrifying but it does explain a lot.
People like to assume that if something is a well known fact, someone responsible will have checked it. We judge what we are told based on how much we trust the source and what everyone else thinks about it.
Even after the source is outed as unreliable we tend to make a decision to go along with it rather than risk being seen as going against the group.

Trans ideology is being presented to young people as the radical alternative; whereas I tend to see it as reactionary, conservative and homophobic.
