yougov.co.uk/news/2018/02/16/four-ten-female-millennials-been-sent-dick-pic/

Close to half of female millennials (46%) say they have been sent a photo of a penis, with women being more likely to have received one the younger they are (53% of 18-24 year olds compared to 36% of 31-36 year olds).

Of those women who have ever been sent a "dick pic", nine in ten (89%) have received one without having asked for it, meaning that 41% of all millennial women have been sent an unsolicited photo of a man's private parts.

I haven't received one but that doesn't surprise me at all.

I wonder if the difference in age brackets is just a correlation with being solidly out of the dating market. You're far more likely to get sent dick pics if you are actively dating than if you have been in a relationship for years and never exchange messages with a man you don't know well (and all the men who do know you well know you are in that relationship).

And how many have been flashed in real life, over the decades?

It's the same behaviour just through a new medium.

I reckon the % of women who have been shown a random dick in real life is pretty high as well.

Everyonematters · 16/02/2018 16:15

I've been flashed IRL but not online.

RedToothBrush · 16/02/2018 16:17

I am put out by being apparently 3 years too old to be sent dick pictures.

(I have).

I must have been an early adopter...

It would be interesting to get equivalent stats for how many males have sent a dick pic. And how many they sent them to. I highly doubt it's a one to one ratio. More likely one grubby bugger sends it to at least a dozen over the course of a year. Like that one guy who just goes around trying to chat up every woman in the club in the hope that one of them will say yes.

I was sent my first dick pic at the age of 16. I am now 37. It’s not new, and it didn’t impress me then either.

The thing that I was taken aback by, was on a thread about dick pics, a lot of the women said the ones they'd been sent were flaccid.

At that point, I can't understand the motivation at all Confused

TheCatsPaws · 16/02/2018 16:29

I’ve received several.

My favourite are the ones from guys in political debates who send me their dicks with messages like “suck on that you left wing bitch” or “I bet you’d love some fascist dick”

Charming.

TheCatsPaws · 16/02/2018 16:35

The real question is has any woman, ever, in the history of womankind sent a man an unsolicited picture of her vagina?

DPs ex once accidentally sent him nudes online and then claimed they’d been meant for her new boyfriend. This was after about four years of them not being together, and we’d recently started dating so it wasn’t an accident.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 16/02/2018 17:05

I'm amazed 60% haven't

OldmanOfTheWeb · 16/02/2018 17:08

Oh and a man once passed me a polaroid of his penis thru my van window when I was on a call out for the water board, which is nice.

A polaroid? Hand it back and say "I don't think it's developed yet".

I got sent one by a guy I recognised from the local international food shop, we had a friendly chat about me making a website for his shop (I was studying web design at uni)

Later that night he sent me a dick pic, fully erect in all its glory.. I was too shocked to reply for ages but eventually texted back "sorry couldn't open that picture, what was it? Can't talk about website tonight as boyfriend coming round"
I made the boyfriend bit up and hoped he believed the pic error because it was back in the day before smart phones.

The annoying thing was that I wasn't prepared to stop going to that gym or shopping in that shop so I still did, and just wasn't as friendly as I was before. Awkward! I imagine he did it to lots of women and then had all these women avoiding him..

DenPerry · 16/02/2018 17:31

Sorry forgot to add that we chatted at the gym. It's amazing how being friendly to some men is so wildly misinterpreted.
