www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-42864916/who-or-what-defines-you-as-a-woman

This has made me cross Angry no mention of the potential for predatory heterosexual males to abuse the new legislation and enter our spaces at all. I also think they've gone out of their way in the video to make Linda sound a bit crazed (it's not a chair if you call it a giraffe or some such - I get it but it sounds a little odd out of context).

Thoughts?

The response to have you ever been challenged didn’t surprise me

Becuase women are conditioned to be caring and non confrontational something that bypassed them

I wouldn’t want to confront a trans person and tell them they shouldn’t be in a woman’s only space, it would feel mean to me saying I can see are male I and not fooled but we shouldn’t be out in that situation

This agains is something that those who have had male privilege are not getting but I don’t think many seem to care about how we as women feel

Sorry typo should read

put in that situation

I've submitted a complaint against the BBC for bias. Ignoring women's concerns.

This made me cross too - it seemed to be deliberately missing the point and making the whole debate into an us-versus-them turf (if you'll pardon the pun) war.

It also completely failed to address the question in its own headline. "Who, or what, defines you as a woman?"

LaContessaDiPlump · 04/02/2018 13:04

Badgers completely agree! It seems to have pushed a few people over the edge into peak trans though, which is encouraging.....

Not only that but it makes the events in Hyde Park look like both sides were violent when we know that isn't true.
