Can someone tell me why I’m annoyed about this

At the Grammys we have lots of white roses present and a lot of support for the Times up and Me Too movements.

One of the evening’s highlights is celebs reading from “Fire and Fury”. All good fun, right?

So why is Snoop Dogg getting clapped and cheered when he appears when the man has a bona fide history of misogyny and sexism in his music and accompanying videos?

See the cover of “Doggystyle” as item 1 in the “case for the annoyed”.

Is it just me? If was there and was wearing a rose I’d have sat on my hands so fucking hard they’d be paddles.

No, not just you. Did everyone clap enthusiastically for him? I'd have been distinctly and obviously underwhelmed I think, had I been in the audience.

Off top of my head, I'd say it's about conformity, being seen to do the right thing, and fear of the consequences of taking a risk and speaking out.

A few women have had the bravery to take that risk, and for a range of reasons - have been heard and some things have changed - so now others are jumping on the bandwagon - now that it's increasingly safe to do so. A movement which was initially bold, daring, courageous, powerful and counter-cultural becomes mainstream and "progressive". But these days "progressive" usually isn't.

Anyone very virtue signally isn't going to sit on their hands when a black performer arrives, I wouldn't have thought. Victim hierarchy.

Victim hierarchy is a thing?!
