They seem to be doing some good stuff, looking at beefing up laws to better protect women. I was just wondering what their definition of women was?

They say self identified trans women are women. If you live as a woman, you are a woman.

How can they square protecting women with backing something which led to a rapist getting moved to a women's Jail?

I feel like I'm in a parallel universe sometimes.

Hmm, I've just read that and it all seems very mealy mouthed and vague. Obviously designed to not offend anybody.

This was interesting I thought:

^Hate crime against women and girls is a cause and consequence of gender inequality and
should be treated as unlawful. It is important that the hate crime in question is misogyny hate
crime, not gender hate crime, recognising the direction of the power imbalance within society^

This would be consistent with the one-directional nature of transgender or disability hate crime

I had a thread on this a couple of weeks ago. I think they might not have drunk the Kool aid but that they are hoping not to have to out themselves in case they get eaten by trans-zombies...

I had the same thoughts as @certain. The orgnaisations that have drunk the kool aid normally fall over themselves to say ''transwomen are women, brovaries before ovaries''.

I'm really tempted to support them, but not unless they are willing to be clear on who they are fighting for.

What's the difference between "misogyny hate crime" and "gender hate crime"? And is there such a thing as misandry hate crime?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/01/2018 13:36

Misogyny - hatred of women (sex)
Gender hate crime - (gender)

I doubt there is a misandry hate crime at the moment , as , afaik, misogyny isn't recognised as a hate crime (hence the campaign)
