There has been a lot of justified anger about Worboys' impending release and these two articles have helped me to put my anger into words and been very helpful. I hope they can help others who have been affected as well.

Sian Norris - New Statesman

Marina Hyde - The Guardian

"Critics of the attacker’s early release have been called over-emotional. "

If we aren't allowed to be emotional about more than 100 women being raped and sexually assaulted, what are we allowed to be emotional about?

Men get emotional about stuff all the time - sport springs to mind - but women are supposed to be utterly impassive even in the face of this?

I loved the Marina Hyde one - summed up my feelings perfectly. Its not that I don't understand why he's being released, its that I don't agree with it.

EXACTLY!

The number of people men who have sweetly tried to mansplain to me how the parole board works when I've expressed my increasing rage about this situation, as each revelation goes out. I know how it works, I understand why his paltry sentence "has been served", I just think it's shite.

And no, I don't believe that rapists of his ilk can be rehabilitated, in fact, I've seen bloody good evidence that they can't so there's that too.

I posted the Guardian article ony Facebook, only for someone to mansplain that actually noone thinks this animal has served enough time.

He absolutely gets his water from a well, actually.

Two great articles. I've given up with the mansplaining 'explanations' of the parole board. Obviously not fit for purpose.

about the parole board Blush

The Marina Hyde article was brilliant. I love her.

I think the next person who says that I sound quite angry about his release/pathetic sentence might get bitten.

The parole decision has been overturned.

Well done to all the women who were silenced for too long by the police and CJS, blamed by people for somehow allowing him to continue to rape with impunity. And well done to Harriet Wistrich, that woman deserves a medal for the work she does for women.

I hope he never gets out.
