It’s a Daily Mail story, and I’ll include the link but then add the text:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-52--39497/Sex-offender-breaches-child-porn-court-order-fourth-time.html

==start of text==

A sex offender who moved a 17-year-old girl into her home has been spared jail despite her previous offences.

Lana Laws, 30, who was previously known as Ben but now identifies as a woman, was found to have broken a court orders by having a relationship with the teenager.

Laws, who was also found to have broken three other court orders, has previous convictions for a sexual offence and for possessing indecent images of children.

Canterbury Crown Court heard Laws had moved the teenager into her home in Ramsgate, Kent.

The accountant was given a nine-month suspended prison sentence - despite it being the fourth breach of an order issued in 2011 for downloading indecent images of children.

Police visited Laws in February last year where they discovered she was living as a woman and had moved a 17-year-old girl into her home.

Prosecutor Steven Mould said: 'She said they were in a relationship and had met through a dating website.

'But she accepts that she made no effort to notify the authorities. This is the fourth breach of the order.'

The court heard that Laws' 'contact' sexual offence dated back to 2004.

Previous breaches were for failing to register a change of address and twice being in possession of a mobile phone with Internet access.

John Barker, defending, said Laws's partner was now 18 and would have attended the court hearing had she not been attending a funeral.
He said: 'The defendant had an appalling childhood, but has since done the best she can to help herself.

'Today she is asking for a second chance.'

Judge James O'Mahony accepted that Laws had an 'awful childhood' during which she had been 'exposed to extreme sexual behaviour by others'.

He said: 'This is your fourth breach. If it is understood that people can continuously breach court orders without consequence, they will lose their effect.'

Laws admitted the breach and the suspended sentence. She was ordered to do 20 days rehab and 100 hours unpaid work.

Another example of a predatory male identifying as a transwoman. If the mitigating circumstances put forward are true, then that is a definite reason for gatekeeping those biological males who wish to be recognised as transwomen. I have a lot of sympathy for those who experienced abuse as children. And understand, probably in a superficial way, how that rips apart the psyche and how difficult (impossible?) to repair. But that is precisely why there needs to be a psychological evaluation. Too often, now, the approach of many authorities is as if the self-ID process is already operative. This seems clear to me a case of a male grooming a young female. But throw in the self-identification as a transwoman probably means the police couldn’t operate on the basis of that.

Its worse than that; the judge said Lana was not predatory.
Despite breaching the order not to live in a house with under 18 year olds be being in a relationship with one.

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/convicted-sex-offender-found-living-11797897

It was the FOURTH time Lana Laws, 34, has breached sanctions.

She was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for 10 years in February 2011 for downloading illegal images of children when she was then called Ben Laws.

Under restrictions imposed at the time of the conviction she was prohibited from living in the same house as someone under the age of 18.

Steve Mould, prosecuting, said police went to Laws' home in February last year and discovered she was in a relationship with a 17-year-old girl.

Laws, an accountant, of Ramsgate, Kent, admitted breaching the Sexual Offences Act by failing to notify police she was in a relationship.

Mr Mould said it was the fourth breach of the restrictions, but Laws claimed it was out of "forgetfulness rather than malice".

"But this is not predatory sexual offending and this relationship has not been perceived as being abusive and no harm, in that sense, was involved."

No, the vast majority of men are not pigs. But there are a significant number of predatory males who will go to almost any lengths to abuse vulnerable females.

Kent Online has the same story.

"Do they just accept any old cock and bull story these arseholes give them?"

Seems like that's it exactly. Forgetful, no malice, couldn't help themselves etc etc etc. Poor men. FFS

34 year old and 17 year old - so 17 year age gap regardless of genders... Angry

Mumsnut · 06/01/2018 14:46

It's the fact that he has an interest in child porn and she could get pregnant any day that bothers me most ...
