Inspired by a post by Lang Cleg on the “Lily Madigan on Channel 4 News” thread, here is a list of questions about women’s issues to tweet to the Women’s Officers of your local parties, including Lily. Please feel free to add your additional questions and feed back any responses you receive.

LangCleg

Hi Lily - what are your views about the fact that 85% of cuts under austerity have fallen on women? What priority should UK Labour give to this?

Hi Lily - what are your thoughts about the current medical scandal over vaginal mesh? What steps should be taken by UK Labour in response?

Hi Lily - full decriminalisation or Nordic model? What position should UK Labour take? And why?

Hi Lily - what are your views on exclusion zones around abortion clinics? Are there such clinics any in your constituency?

Hi Lily - how do you feel about medical gatekeeping for women who want sterilisation and/or hysterectomies? Should UK Labour take a position?

Hi Lily - what's your position on WASPI women? How high on UK Labour's priority list should this issue be?

Hi Lily - I can be here all night if you like.

Lily will probably call anyone asking the above 'bigots' and start crying that they are being bullied by asking questions about a sub-sector of womanhood rather than the more important trans-woman issues that are their main concern.

Lily could start by making the tea
That would be embracing the womens role and getting experience of being a woman Xmas Hmm

May be best to reword some of these questions to be 'female' instead of 'woman' to be honest. I know that may sound silly, but its unfortunately necessary given the state of things today.

Goodness I don't think any of those tasks are menial, they are all essential for a working, campaigning, active branch.

Locally we were in campaign mode while I was women's officer, so we had Indyref, SP elections & council elections plus numerous bi-elections.
Getting women out campaigning was absolutely essential, local politics in particular is so male dominated we need more women involved.

Many of the new members we engaged with during Indyref onwards are now actively involved in our branch, some are now councillors, several have put motions forward & spoke on behalf of them at conference.

I'm still often the only woman out campaigning with all the men though.

No, I don't think rewording them to say "female" instead of "woman" is a good idea. I want to reclaim the word"woman". Hence my qquestions (and a lot of other posters' questions) focus on the women's issues which are to do with our biology: abortion rights, pregnancy care, period poverty, fgm. We need to hammer home that these are women's issues and they are the point at which the personal becomes the political.

Lily seems to be busy crowdfunding, for a rental deposit, I believe.

Her account is in the name of Liam Madigan, as Lily doesn't have ID in her current choice of name.
