Please help me!

I'm actually not sure who I'm most annoyed at.

My partner has an office job, something they like to do as a stupid right of passage is take a photo of your partner and mock it up to look as though a sexual act is being performed......stupid I know.

I don't use social media and photos of myself on line are rare.

However DH has just posted a snap of me out lunching with the kids, my mouth is open and it's exactly what a certain co-worker has been waiting on.

My DH has already expressed he will not be happy if such a photo of me appears, I too have posted on my DH Facebook page that I wouldn't accept it.

Said co-worker has since messaged DH to say "this photo (of me) is the one"

I'm sitting here raging, I'm a mother and a wife but most of all I'm a women with self respect and I think this type of so called banter is disgusting!!
How degrading to me, also I don't work there! I feel unable to even defend myself!

AIBU?? Is this all office banter and I just don't get it!

I feel like going down to the office tomorrow and calling him out on his childish, pathetic behaviour.

YANBU

Hopefully your DH will rip him a new one for you!

Utterly terrible, degrading "banter"

SteampunkPrincess · 27/09/2017 21:05

That's not banter

That's disgusting

Doublemint · 27/09/2017 21:09

YANBU that's horrendous.

Go and confront him.

Take it higher to management level- make them regret the day they dared to do this to you.

T00ManyB00ks · 27/09/2017 21:12

I'm actually speechless! Are they school boys?

lifecanbelovely · 27/09/2017 21:17

What kind of company allows that! Get your DH to sort it immediately!

Weeone03 · 27/09/2017 21:29

Thanks everyone, as I have never worked in an office I needed to know DH and myself weren't the unreasonable ones, I almost felt like I am supposed to simple laugh it off! Somehow See the funny side but I actually don't even find it mildly amusing.

I feel this is a rubbish position for my DH, small local company, clearly not a great management structure, not any sort of HR dept.

And I'll give you all an example, the owner of this company posted a previous mock photo on his social media. As it was such great "banter"

That is pretty bloody outrageous. Majorly offensive.

AlternativeTentacle · 27/09/2017 21:37

The boss does it?

Fucking hell - that is disgusting.

MancLife · 27/09/2017 21:51

Am I missing something? The guys not actually 'made' or posted an explicit photo yet has he.

annandale · 27/09/2017 21:54

Jiminy crickets. That's insanely unpleasant and stupid.

I presume your Dh has deleted the photo?

Weeone03 · 27/09/2017 22:06

Sorry just to clear up, No photo, yet!
He's been trying for a while to find a photo, had other in office also looking.
He messaged this evening to say the photo DH posted is perfect for what he needs! Hmm

I am asking for advice on IF the photo appears!
And if I am being unreasonable to be upset/angry or annoyed if one does!

What came of this in the end OP?
I wonder if laws similar to revenge porn apply here?
