Has anyone seen this? Confronting film about a news reader who committed suicide live on air in 1974.

We saw it a couple of weeks ago. It was quite distressing viewing and Rebecca Hall plays the part brilliantly. I suffer with MH issues and found her portrayal of the depression spiral really uncomfortable to watch.

Not seen but heard Hall being interviewed and saying how harrowing it was doing the scenes. Dont think Im brave enough for it tbh

I saw it. Having read about what really happened, I thought it seemed quite realistic.

I thought it was an incredible portrayal. Also sad to think that sexist attitudes seemed to hold her back at work and perhaps stopped her from having a fulfilling relationship... caught in between that and yearning to be a mother which she could never be, given her medical problems... she felt she had no place in the world. Clearly she had MH problems but she also faced other seemingly insurmountable problems. Terrible tragedy.
