new report re: victim blaming/sexual assault

Anybody seen the new Fawcett report regarding assigning blame to victims of sexual assault, and other views on feminism?

"The survey asked: “if a woman goes out late at night, wearing a short skirt, gets drunk and is then the victim of a sexual assault, is she totally or partly to blame?” Fawcett’s analysis reveals:

38% of all men and 34% of all women said that she is totally or partly to blame
41% of men aged 18-24 and 30% of women the same age agree
14% of men aged 18-34 say she is “totally to blame”
Women aged over 65 were more likely to blame her, with 55% saying she is totally (5%) or partly (50%) to blame compared to 48% of men the same age."

Over 8000 participants and a wide demographic.

I'm possibly even more concerned about the findings further down the page that 1 in 5 men don't want the women in their lives to have equality.

It's a grim thought isn't it.

The thing I was surprised about was that The younger age bracket was slightly more likely to blame the woman than the average. I'd be interested to see which age group brought the average down.

God, I just hate how men walk around in trousers, reminding me that they have a penis. I can't help myself. When I see them flaunting themselves like that I just have to straddle them asap. I mean, a tight pair of jeans is like an invitation, with that bulge just begging for my attention. And the zip's there, just declaring how they're ready for action and wanting me to hop on board and party.

Men should take some responsibility and stop flaunting themselves so obviously. It is actually painful to me to walk by without a quick squeeze at the very least. I have needs, and they don't make it easy for me.

Said no woman, ever.
