TBF, it's not necessarily the employers who are at fault for many of the discrepancies - it starts way earlier.

It's one of those "I don't even know where to start" things, isn't it? Some very patient people on Facebook are trying to educate him, but I don't hold out a lot of hope. Many of his other blog posts are in the same vein.

I lose interest in things like that when they come inevitably to the point where they describe "motherhood" instead of "parenting" as if it's impossible to raise a child if you are male.

Yes, and the assumption that they don't need to be hired or promoted as they're just going to go off and get pregnant, aren't they?

This guy is working on the bizarre premise that businesses (mad eup of individuals) make decisions based on logic, and that there are no foolish business people. We all know that discrimination happens, there are frequent tribunals about it, as well as people defending their right not to employ from particular groups.

The it's all abilities and preferences is such a weak line. Women you are paid less/have less opportunities but that's OK, because it's all your own fault!

The quality of his 'Philosophical and Economic' analysis is quite puerile. Can't say I'd read his blog on anything if that's the general standard. Or bother talking to him on Facebook.

Thank goodness someone has explained this phenomenon clearly, with the use of analogies I can understand.

So, he still claims gender discrimination at work doesn't exist in the UK, but maternity discrimination does - however, that's totally fine, and it's completely different to gender discrimination anyway.

Absolutely hilarious, his argument is clearly very weak if he has to resort to making up statistics. Motherhood is a right. Having a well paid job is a right. You can't just say, "Well, sorry, you have to kind of choose between them because we're misogynistic idiots".
