Has anyone just listened to this on Women's Hour?
When I heard it introduced I thought what a good idea, how can it not be a good thing to teach young people about consent and what exactly rape is?
Then they started talking about teaching the girls about basically not being a victim.
The young man they had on talked about how it would help lower incidents and stop people crying wolf!
I think I might have to listen again as I just cringed though out. It seems like such a good opportunity to teach young men & women about enthusiastic consent but they seemed to focus on supporting existing stereotypes of women being victims and men being unsuspecting victims of women who cry rape.
Sorry I'm not particularly eloquent this morning. It particularly stuck me as I'd just been reading the thread about Sussex police on here.
