Bravo, what a wonderful thing!

I was a professional athlete back in the day, I had a gorgeous figure but all anyone ever noticed was my little boobs, or at least that's how I felt. I'm bigger now, post children, I have boobs, tummy and hips. I'd give my boobs up for a flat stomach and toned thighs. I can't win. If this goes towards showing that a woman comes in all shapes and sizes then that's a good thing and maybe my sports mad dd won't suffer the insecurities I have.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/10/2014 15:23

That's good. Its maybe a bit Hmm that showing clothes designed for women who do stuff on the real women is unusual though.

trevortrevorslattery · 08/10/2014 16:59

Yes errol it's ridiculous - quote from article-

"The show stood out from sports fashion lines that advertise women’s clothes with representatives who are models first, athletes second. Last week, for instance, Under Armour unveiled a campaign featuring the model Gisele Bündchen."

I am sure there are plenty of sportswomen who actually wear and use Underarmour stuff.. not sure why they wouldn't be used!

Catwalk aside, clothes designers still don't seem to get that there are women (and girls like my 15yo) with square shoulders and non-sticklike arms and legs with yer actual muscles!

Mitchy1nge · 09/10/2014 13:24

I don't see what's so great about it, running and eating disorders are almost as close allies as modelling and eating disorders

why don't they use weightlifters like this or other less lean athletes

Mitchy1nge · 09/10/2014 13:26

(sorry, just hate the whole fitspo thing when fit healthy women come in such a range of shapes and sizes)

ErrolTheDragon · 09/10/2014 13:57

Yes - though actually they weren't all runners - it mentioned one being a hammer-thrower.

BreakingDad77 · 09/10/2014 17:24

Karl lagerfield - ‘These are fat mummies sitting with their bags of crisps in front of the television, saying that thin models are ugly,' Lagerfeld said in an interview with Focus magazine. He added that the world of fashion was all to do ‘with dreams and illusions, and no one wants to see round women'.

Need I say more

Clearly not a man who lives in the real world! Grin
