A great choral rendering of Julia Gillard's Misogyny Speech to and about Abbott (who indeed can fuck off, the Rampant Misogynist). I think she completely got done over in the media; by her government, as well as the Opposition at the time; and by the society at large in Australia. Australia is not ready for a female Prime Minister, and it will be some time before they are (I am Australian btw).

Its interesting, do you immediately assume that all women are lying, backstabbing bitches? Is that a default assumption that you make about all women? Are you married to a woman, or are you a woman yourself? I also suspect that you are a misogynistic Australian male. If you are, there is help available. I would suggest taking advantage of the Employee Assistance Program through your work - you can get 4 free psychological counseling session per year at your discretion. At least it is a cheap way to work out why you have this misogynistic streak about you. Request a female who is good at working through sexism/misogyny, and start figuring out why you think so little of women. I have already written about the sexism and misogyny which is rife in Australian culture elsewhere on MN, and it appears you typify that culture whole-heartedly. Very sad for you, and for Australian women that have to come in contact with you.

Abbott is the poster-boy of the Australian sexist, misogynistic, racist, and homophobic way of life in Australia. A friend once said "I can't believe we have [this idiot] leading our country, why can't he do better? He is making a mockery of Australia in international politics." I gently said to her "I think he actually is doing his best, its just that his best is truly crap." She had a lightbulb moment, and we went onto discuss other feminist things.
