This has only just come to my attention in the last few days. There seems to have been very little about it in the UK news until very recently. Such a horrific story. I cant help feeling depressed that Peaches Geldof makes headline news and this is just filed away under 'African news' by most news outlets.

Grass - there is a thread on it in FWR - "DD abducted" - and there have been hundreds of articles since the abduction happened. Put Nigerian girls into Google News and you will see articles going back two weeks or more. It was running on the 24 hour news channels regularly from about 20 April.

But I agree that the Peaches story got disproportionate coverage. That's the problem with our ghastly celeb culture.

I didn't hear about it until last Saturday, and have mostly seen it on feminist sites and not "news"sites until recently as well
