For those of you who don't know, today is the International Day for Eliminating Violence against Women. It is the start of 16 Days of activism and conscious raising. To give you an idea of what is happening:

Million Women Rise are organising a vigil tonight in Highbury Fields.
Joan Smith, Nimko Ali and Finn MacKay Are talking about violence against women tonight in Bristol.
@CountingDeadWomen are tweeting every 10 minutes the name of a woman who has been killed by male violence in the UK because they were a woman. They estimate it has been 116 up to today and it will take 19 hrs. There is a list of all the women here
Here are a couple of relevant petitions: Stop Ignoring Dead Women, Stop FGM in the UK now and Theresa May to commit the UK to ratifying the Council of Europe's Istanbul convention on violence against women and domestic violence.
