Having trouble seeing what categories these are in on my phone. Are they marketed as unisex baby or 'boys'? I tend to buy 'boys' and 'girls' clothes for my dds as for some reason many retailers think that, being girls, they should be in pink and purple uniform.
I prefer plain stuff in neutral colours so probably wouldn't buy either a cutesy mouse or a construction one (though my daughters both hate baking and love construction). I always have a moan when shops sell stereotyped nonsense tho. Is it because the builder is a bloke? Or because the grow-up model is a boy?
Why can't they all just sell nice striped tops in various colours for CHILDREN and stop shoving gendered cupcakes and dinosaurs down our throats?
Please god let no-one come along and say that girls and boys actually have these gender-based preferences naturally. (As I think it might have something to do with being pushed down the BOYS' TOYS aisle in the supermarket from age 0...)
And the next person that asks me how old my little boy is (because my little girl is not wearing her government-issued pink bow) is going to get slapped round the face with a copy of the Second Sex.
Sorry. Rant from nowhere.
