i dont normally watch this crap and today i was reminded of why. They were talking about the mum who sold her daughtersOne Direction tickets . They were actually laughing at the slut shaming and victim blaming.
Jane Mcdonald even said if it was her child she would have packed her off to live with him. (the older man mentioned by the slut shaming mum.)

And yet they sit there wringing their fucking hands wondering how cases like the one in Rochdale happened.
Now predators in the vicinity of this young girl and her victim blaming mother KNOW that the mother victim blames which will make this young girl an easier target for them because they know they wont be blamed The girl will. Sorry if i havent articulated my self well here SO ANGRY Angry Angry

OK at the risk of getting my head bitten off here, could you possibly explain the full news story to me as all I can see is that a young girl lied to her parents about where she was going and has got punished for it.

I hate loose women and therefore never watch it so can't comment on there behaviour today. However, they do generally disgust me so I am not surprised they have made you so angry.

I've only managed to watch about four seconds of Loose Women before smoke starts coming out of my ears, so thankfully I've not seen them speak such crap.

I find it incredible that the 'loose women are in this century, honestly it's like feminism never happened.

The LW fb page is full of parents who think its either funny or a good idea or both.
it is exactly the kind of mysogynistic victim blaming environment which predators like those in Rochdale will thrive in (sorry if thats not right word no offence meant)

And Loose Women kept referring to the older man as an older BOY playing down his involvement and putting all the responsibility onto the young girl.

im DISGUSTED MAKES ME SICK.

I agree with her selling the ticket but absolutely disagree with the accompanying information.

She has herself acted as a child by responding to her daughters behaviour in such a way, especially the sniping at her friends and their parents.

Darkesteyes Do you have more information than the rest of us about the situation with the girls and the older man that has been mentioned.

I'm not sure it is fair to be comparing this person with the group involved in Rochdale and be screaming about victim blaming if you have no more information than that which has been posted on the web so far.

mayorquimby · 24/09/2013 14:56

"And Loose Women kept referring to the older man as an older BOY playing down his involvement and putting all the responsibility onto the young girl."

Is that not just because they're interpreting "older guy" as being a synonym for older boy where as others are interpreting it as meaning a man?

Or has more info come out?
Tbh when I first saw the ad I assumed older guy was probably someone from a higher year at school etc.

JaquelineHyde · 24/09/2013 14:58

mayorquimby I have assumed the same as you and like you I am wondering if others have more information than the rest of us.

God that e-bay listing is horrendous. The name-calling: "bitchy", "trollops". Makes my teeth itch. So abusive. I just want to love-bomb her daughter or something equally hippy-like

I am with Darkesteyes on this. She isn't worried about an older man being predatory on her daughter and her friends, she is worried about her daughter being pregnant and the shame that would bring to her and her daughter. Not worried about how damaging it could be for her daughter to be sexually involved with an older man. This might be one end of the spectrum but it is totally this type of attitude that allows men like the Rochdale gang to get away with preying on young girls. It always seems to be the girl's responsibility to stay away from the men, not the other way round.

The irony is that those people with a very indifferent grasp of logic, always quote Loose Women as some kind of proof that we're all equal now and feminism is redundant.

Hmm

I have never met a feminist who likes them.
