Bizarrely concealed in the Exeter Express & Echo within an ad for a well-known local discount store.

I'm going to type it out as it appears (think Dr Bronner style lack of paragraph returns) so I apologise if it's a little difficult to wade through but I think it's worth it.

"^SPEAKERS CORNER

I recall Godfrey Bloom MEP (of Bongo-Bongo Land" Fame) commenting on "gender quotas", wondering is 50% of all female impersonators...

...need to be women. Godfrey is married to a lovely Polish lady and has many female employees, so he's an expert on this whole subject... It strikes me that the desire to enforce gender-quotas across society is another example of the cultural Marxism that has shackled Britain for the last thirty years, and UKIP is totally opposed to it... On the subject of raising the differences between men and women, this is not because someone hates women or thinks men are superior. It just means that there are differences that most sane people would recognise. These days it seems one is not even allowed to to voice an opinion without being screamed down as sexist, racist, bigoted. It's like the Salem witch-trials without the bonhomie... Women might not be very good at backing a car, but they're a damn sight safer driving it (ask the insurance companies). Women are home-makers. Men just leave the seat up in the bathroom (and sometimes worse, but we won't go there). Women can multi-task. Men can read maps... This is not ill-informed speculation nor ignorant generalisation... I have discussed this at length with Hilary. Since the snow came back all she's done is look through the window. It it gets any worse I'll have to let her back in again... God what a nob.

They really are all nobs aren't they. It's not just a stereotype, it's not just one or two. It's a whole culture.

UKIP was set up for people who are too upmarket to join the BNP but don't feel comfortable in the Tory Party anymore because even the Tories have to pay some sort of lip service to the idea that anyone who isn't an able-bodied white man is actually a human being with the same right to function in society as an able-bodied white man.

UKIP representatives and presumably members, seem profoundly uncomfortable with that idea.

tribpot · 22/09/2013 13:35

This is not ill-informed speculation nor ignorant generalisation

Er. Yes, yes it is.

UKIP are terrifying because they use this eccentric-British-buffoon schtick in a way even Boris Johnson would blanch at. It's all meant to sound vaguely amusing and thus not threatening. And it plays to the ranks of white men who are pissed off at having their privilege eroded and would quite like to have it back - but would probably not do a great deal of harm if they weren't goaded. But that kind of recipe can lead to a very dark place.

duchesse · 22/09/2013 13:43

Exactly my thoughts, both! The man sounds more than a little unhinged to boot.

Gotta love the bonhomie of the Salem witch trials as well. How they all laughed heartily around the pyre of those local -b-witches... Hmm

I actually think that literacy is wasted on some people. Or a dangerous tool.

I'd love to meet this 'person' in a social situation. I'd really enjoy making them look like the utter cunt they really are.

Sadly, I never will, as I don't frequent golf clubs.

However, should he have a Google search on his name, I should like to take this opportunity to point out that you, David Challice are an idiot. You are not funny and I sincerely hope you never get elected as anything ever again.

duchesse · 22/09/2013 17:33

Chaos, I'm not sure he needs any help looking like an utter prick does he?

CaptChaos · 22/09/2013 17:34

Duchesse, you, I and everyone on this board knows that, but he and his chums probably think he's a great chap.

I do get what you're saying though Smile

duchesse · 22/09/2013 17:38

Devon seems to be a magnet to these morons. We have a BNP supporter GP who's rarely far from the local letters page as well. You'd think given the lack of social and ethnic diversity that they wouldn't have much grist for their mill... Maybe they move here deliberately?

MonkeyGoneToHeaven · 23/09/2013 16:55

Trago Mills by any chance? They've been printing that crap in the guise of advertising for years. Utterly unhinged, the lot of them.

duchesse · 23/09/2013 21:38

Trago indeed. I didn't really need putting off going there again, but that's clinched it for me.
