Anyone got a link to explain why "pimp your XYZ" is not on?

A blog or whatever. Just seen an advert for an event to make sock puppets called "Pimp Your Sock" ffs.

It's a fair while ago now, but there was a thread here discussing the ever-popular Jamie Oliver talking about how to 'pimp the flavour' of something. No, it was not seen as a good choice of words.
