My question- why weren't the male "performers" executed as well?

I think that there were no male performers because they never actually made any pornography. They were just female light entertainment performers the government wanted rid of. It's North Korea, not South.

THe charge is irrelevant in North Korea. It's whatever the regime want that goes. The suggestion is that Kim Jong Un's wife was keen to get rid of the girlfriend.

This is exactly why blood John Sweeney should never have gone near the country. Even if caught the consequences for him would be less severe. What does he think happened to the guides etc who supervised them and missed that he was a jouyrnalist? I suspect they met the machine gun firing squad too.

Nobody would make porn in NK unless explicitly ordered to by the regime, people there are terrified to make the wrong facial expression as it could result in them and their entire families condemned to prison camps. There is no hedonistic rebellion in a society that controlled.

This is the excuse for the executions when in reality it could have been the tiniest of transgression. Perhaps she moved on to a new relationship, she smiled at someone or someone flirted with her, maybe someone made a joke or comment that was construed as less than worshipful of Dear Leader.....

He partakes in a lot of things that he would happily have his people think don't exist plus he grew up in a swedish boarding school so he's no stranger to western elite culture. just another angle.
