I read this earlier. I've only every seen overall averages for the whole of India quoted, not the regional variations. I was just stunned by the figure for Punjab - 35% more male births than female, due to forced abortion and infanticide. It is horrific.

I also found that breakdown by region illuminating and shocking.

Looking at that graph it becomes terribly clear why girls are being stolen. Just awful.
