Gifts for young female feminists?

I'm looking for some book/gift recommendations for an almost 15 year old.

Anything to get her away from the shite that is Twilight. I've had quite a few discussions about sex recently with her around the notion that PIV sex has lots of risks for women but that there are other types of sex.

Shirley Conran's 'Lace' (recently re-ruplished). I read it when I was 13/14, I made my Grandma splutter and blush when I asked if I could borrow her copy of 'Lace 2'.

One of my friends read Jill Tweedie's "In the Name of Love" when she was 14 and she said it completely immunised her against the pressures of romance, happy ever after, martyrdom, losing yourself in love etc. - all the things women are groomed to do.

Why do you want to get her something to do with sex?

I'm sure there are better (less mortifying) things to buy your daughter.

I don't want to get her something to do with sex, just something to do with the female sex - all the books proposed cover sex and sexuality as part of womanhood in a mysognist culture. There's so much negative influence directed at her with the media available I want to introduce her to different thinking.

Kat Banyard's Equality Illusion is pretty good for this age group.

There was a thread a few years ago in Feminist Book Club called "Books every teenage girl should read".

My DN has been banned from reading "vampire books or any books of that nature" DBs words because him and his ex and the stepfather think they are part of what is "messing her head up"
She has also been forbidden from listening to certain bands and banned from having a mobile phone. Shes 17. Its fucking ridiculous.

DN has read the first 12 Morganville books. And is now not going to be able to read the final 3.
