Has anyone seen this? Normally I can't stand Frankie Boyle but on this occasion I'm actually quite impressed with him. It really winds me up that Chris brown's attack on Rhianna has just been forgotten about, how is it right that he just steps out of the limelight for a couple of months and then gets to go straight back to the top? It's sending a dangerous message out to his young fans, that a man can beat his girlfriend black and blue, and as long as he appears suitably remorseful for a short ammount of time then acts as if nothing ever happened he should be forgiven.

Isn't what you are saying equally as relevent to Frankie boyle?

He disappears are saying offensive things about various people and geoups of people and comes back with a tweet that is "impressive" and all is forgiven.

There is a slight difference though - Chris Brown is a violent criminal. Frankie Boyle is an arse.

Frankie Boyle is offensive. That's his thing. You might not like it. Some people do.

Whereas Chris Brown beat up a woman.

Totally different thing imho.

I would have thought that someone who makes jokes about raping women, how women they look, and disabled children would make him a bit more than an arse.

I did wonder if it was downplaying it, but I think his sense of humour, which I am not a fan of, is what it is, and as LemarchandsBox pointed out, his jokes are offensive but he doesn't discriminate over who he offends . Whether the tweet was in good taste or not, it brought up an issue that Chris Brown and the rest of the music industry have been trying to brush under the carpet.
I'd like to reiterate that I'm not appreciating his humour here, just that he's keeping an important issue in the public view. I still think he's a horrible 'comedian'.

I don't think Frankie Boyle did this with any intent to call Chris Brown to account. He's more concerned with using it as the basis of a joke than with the event itself,

My understanding is that the police intervened re Tom Daley because the Tweeter posted a threat to drown him, along with the other awful insults. When a threat of physical harm is combined with insults, I believe the legal position is more serious.

Also I didn't hear that they raided his house at 3am, could you link to that, please? Or was it hyperbole?

I'd say he is minimizing by making a lame joke more than anything.. He took a chance when he saw it, also how did he see c brown's tweet is he follower (I don't really understand twitter )

Sadly not hyperbole. There are many reports that say the "troubled teenager" was arrested in the early hours of the morning, also that the tweet that Daley retweeted to his one million followers said "you let your dad down i hope you know that". Link to one of many reports below.

Bearing in mind that Tom Daley did not make a complaint, I am still surprised that a threat to drown someone (as in "you tit Tom, I'll drown you") is enough to have the door to your miserable guest house kicked in at 2.45am, be arrested, named and receive a harassment warning, all in under 24hours. The Mail online (there's many others) gives more detail. Most pleasing to see that despite it being the daily mail, the overwhelming majority of the comments are surprised and concerned as well...

Wow, I am surprised they did that as I thought middle of the night raids were mostly for people they thought were a flight risk or who might be getting rid of evidence (like drug dealers).
