Hello everyone,

I am not new to MN but I am an infrequent poster so I dont really know anyone etc. Ive come to this section of MN to seek a bit of guidance. I am quite ignorant when it comes to feminism, and I would like to know more about it. I have do.e some work on the feminist perspective of research but it was brief and I dont feel it helped my understanding as it assumed prior knowledge.

If any fellow posters could help I would appreciate it. I am looking for lay person reads initially, perhaps books which give general perspectives before I read heavier and more indepth analysis.

I dont know if this is relevant or informative to the request but I am a human rights activist, have interests in animal rights and work in mental health. I support womens rights in these roles but would like to have more info to help me understand the other parts of current issues.

Sorry for the poor grammar and incomplete post. The thank you was missing and I annot see an edit button, and I also would like to thank / apologise in advance as I am rarely able to access the net and may not respond to everyone quickly.

Thanks

Hello! I'm just off to bed and I'm sure others will come along with loads of suggestions, but as a start, the Wiki Page on feminism outlines the basics of history, the different strands of feminism and name checks a number of feminist writers and thinkers. Best of luck and enjoy your search and journey!
