Support womens rights in relation to family planning (please!)

On July 11 there is a major global summit on family planning in London.

This is obviously a huge issue for women and girls around the world.

Feminist groups and development charities are calling for donor governments to support family planning provision,, but crucially to do this in a human rights framework - so it is not about doctors and health departments meeting quotas but ensuring women are empowered to decide when to have children.

There is a good statement on it [[
reproductiverights.org/en/press-room/global-advocates-family-planning-summit-must-put-womens-human-rights-first here]]

And Save The Children have a petition and letter writing campaign here.

I am not sure if this is being discussed elsewhere on MN or how to get it into the "stickies", but I think this is something that MNers should support.

Will you?

The first link isn't working for me - I am
on my phone though?

I think this would be a very good cause for Mumsnetters to get behind. I for one feel very grateful that I was able to access reliable contraception in order to plan my family. It depresses me that so many countries are taking retrograde steps in terms of the access girls and women have to contraception, sex education, safe & legal abortion.
