I havent posted in this topic before, and I know she is a fictional character, but what a load of rubbish!

And of course Joey was a saint!

Her character did become more conservative as the series went on.

Hardly! I think Joey had the "loosest morals!" of the six main characters!

Monica, for me, was the most real of all the characters... Although...

Oooooh, sorry to be a saddo, but I remember this from the pilot commentary! NBC were kicking up a fuss because Monica had first date sex, but the audiences didn't mind at all, so they let it roll.

It demo's the double standard perfectly actually, because whilst Joey slept with anything that moved, his promiscuity and love of porn was portrayed in a "boys will be boys" light and actually made him all the more lovable.

By the end of the show, it had normalized porn so entirely that Monica was relieved to find Chandler watching "normal" porn rather than shark porn.

Ok I realize this depth of knowledge makes me extremely sad and probably robs me of any feminist cred that I have garnered to date!
