Hi everyone. I've posted a thread in 'activism' asking for people's help to fight back against the erosion of help for DV victims. Any help gratefully received. Thanks. Smile

this sort of thing makes me want to kill myself, the fact that anyone, anywhere could think of diverting funds from such seriously under resourced and desperately needed services

I hate this world so much sometimes

(realise this is not in the least helpful, just saying :()

Mighty, I agree thoroughly. :( Even now, I've just reblogged something on another site, and been so hesitant about adding the advice lines because I know how under-funded they are. And it's ridiculous that, in this day and age, we're taking such vital resources away. These are life saving resources, they truly are. I know I'd have been dead without the help of Women's Aid. :(

compare responses to this thread with the strength of feeling about the grand national

JuliaScurr · 16/04/2012 12:13

YY Mighty do you remember a couple of years back about donkeys getting more donations than women? (love donkeys, btw, but still...)

TrophyEyes · 16/04/2012 12:27

Mighty, it's infuriating. It truly is. I'm pretty sure every person on Mumsnet, regardless of gender, knows at least four women, therefore is statistically likely to know a woman who has been, is or will be a victim of domestic violence. :( Would they really want lifelines cut?

There's charities that have received 100% funding cuts. 100%. They no longer get funding. EG, they no longer exist. What kind of fucked up dystopian civilisation are we living in when people are more pissed off about the Grand National, than women's life lines being cut?

Can I just bump this, please? If anyone's able to sign the petition, please do! :) Thanks in advance

Frothy.

Bump. Come on, this is a big issue. Please check out the petition linked in Sunshine's post, and help circulate it.
