I just thought I'd post this. It's a link to a guardian article on great pieces of art where the women have been basically slimmed down to match our modern notions of "perfect" proportions.

Slimmed down with bigger breasts. Or do they just look bigger because of the slimmed down bodies?

Certainly their breasts have grown and become "perkier" in a few cases

It's an interesting idea (I'm not entirely sure what the point is though), but it mainly looks like really appalling photoshopping. They must have spent all of five minutes on a free software programme.

I thought the first couple of comments had it spot on (which must be a record for CiF). It's really off to make out that women with a different body shape make those pictures look 'grotesque'. It's the same nasty attitude you get when people insist fatter women are 'real' (as if thinner women are not real).

And it suggests that not only is it A-ok to objectify naked women, it's also a woman's body shape changing that makes something stop being 'art' - as if objectifying thin women would be totally unproblematic if only they didn't make things so ugly.

Hmm
